i-80 Closures

I made it to Wyoming exit 3 off of I 80 and had to pull off cause the road was closed.  It is a zoo here with all the trucks parked everywhere.  I really feel bad for the residents.  I dont know how long this will be lasting I am hoping it will open tommorow and I will be out of Wyoming by the end fo tommorow.  I am way behind on my run to Atlanta but this cannot be helped.

As I sit and waitt

I finished my drop and hook and I had to leave my trailer with hopes in getting another run but it seems to be going bad.  I sit and wait for nothing.  I am deciding if I should lay down and sleep or not.  Tough choice.  It was a good day and felt good to sleep solid the other night.  TTYL

An almost visit to Mexico

Well after my nightmarish situation last night I went and started my day with a wash for the truck to get that horrid mud off the truck.  I then headed for my drop off location in Laredo, TX.  But then it seemed with unclear directions I made my way to the border of Mexico.  NOT BY CHOICE at all!!!  Luckily there was a turnaround just before going to the border and I was able to make my way to where I needed to be.  That again was an adventure I did not need at all. 

Christmas is almost here and I will be looking forward to time off but my issue is where to spend it.  I don't know if i want to go to Florida or Indiana or do I want to just disappear for a few days to somewhere fun?  I am not sure.  Well it has been fun.  I am off to bed.

Stuck in the Mud

Well today started off decent but it seems like it ended a bit squishy.  I was going to meet with a friend and have dinner in Round Rock, TX area but that didn't go so well due to the fact that I actually got stuck in the mud here at the little Circle K truck stop.  Thankfully I was able to get  pulled out and it only cost 300.00 and a lot of embarrassment.  It could have cost me a lot more but it didn't.  I need to get my truck a bath because there is mud everywhere on her.  That will cost me another 50 or so.  Well I'm off for bed now.

Irritations of the day

Today was an interesting day on the road.  It started with no phone service for almost 2 days it was truly agitating.  I wish people would not worry so much about what I do.  I don't do anything of serious danger I just drive a truck and heaven forbid I miss a phone call or I am out of contact people seem to be in a frenzy and go crazy thinking I died or something.  My mother in particular.  She needs to remember I am 41 and I can take care of myself.  I do not need to be babied and such.  It was really infuriating when i got service back today my poor phone blew up.  It was lots from both my mother and wife.  Life in the road is a great pleasure and very quiet not dealing with loads of people just the ones who cannot drive

Bored

As I sit and drive through the early morning hours I make my way to Buffalo New York it is about 580 miles from my current location I'm going to be a very long that day I miss my wife I miss my friend but this is a lifestyle that I really love the freedom of the road freedom of the truck from one place to another excitement is great at the moment I'm making my way to Morris Illinois Illinois very pricing cigarettes so hoping I can find something enjoy a night out

Casey Seymour, a successful soccer player and coach, notes that everyone on his team hates the 10-by-100 drill that ends practice. Before the men can leave the field, they must run 100 yards 10 times at full speed with minimal rest. If they don’t beat a prescribed time, they have to do it again.

The players hate it—until the day of the game. Then they find that they can play at full capacity for the entire match. Their effort has been rewarded with a championship!

The apostle Paul used metaphors of training and competition in his letters. While he was a missionary to the Gentiles, he submitted to the instructions and drills of God amid great suffering and hardship. Twice in Philippians 4, he said, “I have learned” (vv.11-12). For him, and for each of us, following Jesus is a lifelong learning process. We are not spiritually mature the day we are saved, any more than a schoolboy athlete is ready for professional soccer. We grow in faith as we allow God through His Word and the Holy Spirit to empower us to serve Him.

Through hardship, Paul learned to serve God well—and so can we. It’s not pleasant, but it is rewarding! The more teachable we are, the more mature we will become. As members of Christ’s team, let’s be coachable.

The Prayer

Psalms 19:1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Romans 1:20 – For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse

The Prayer:

Jesus, I need you! You are my Lord, my God, and my King. You are worthy of all of my worship. Help me, by your grace, to know you and love you so deeply and dearly that the things of this world fade away and grow strangely dim.

I want to worship you and you alone. I don’t want to be forged by the culture. I am in you; I want to be one with you. Bind my heart to yours, and place your truth deep within me. I not only want to know you and your Word, I want to have the desire to forsake sin and follow you and your Word. Enable me to worship you in spirit and in truth.

I need your power, your grace, and your love so that no matter what life brings my way, I can respond to each situation, each person, and each trial the way you would respond—all for your glory. I don’t want to respond merely outwardly, but rather from within, from the river of living water. I want to be so close to you, Jesus that your Spirit flows forth from me in all I do and say. May I find all of my joy only in you.
May I glorify you in all I say and do. (Psalm 42:1-2a; Galatians 2:20)

No matter where I am, what I am doing, what Scripture I am reading, or what song I am singing, I want my mind, my energies, and my heart focused on you and not on me and my circumstances. I want you and you alone.

No matter if I succeed or fail, win or lose, am rich or poor, am included or excluded, am known or forgotten, may I be content knowing that you are mine and I am yours.
May my chief aim be to love you and be loved by you, to please you and serve only you. Help me to see my sin, mourn it, and forsake it, by your grace. Help me hunger and thirst after righteousness.


Lord Jesus, grant me your grace, your mercy, and your loving-kindness to enable me to see you, know you, love you, and be one with you. Thank you that you’re Word tells me if we ask anything in your name and according to your will that you will do it. Amen. (John 14:13-14)

First week done after tonight

It has been an interesting first week I work every shift this hotel has to offer if it's not one thing it's another the people here aren't bad this place has a bunch of different characters let's just say some funny some not so funny is some nice some not nice some scary some not so scary but tonight is my first or my last night for this week technically I have Friday off but I get off at 7 a.m. Friday and I have to be back Saturday 7 a.m. It is a really crazy work week schedule I get six shifts a week the overtime will be good but it will be really tiring so tonight is Thursday night to Friday morning any luck we have a quiet night so to all my blogger followers thanks for reading and more to come

My First Weekend At My New Job

Well, where do I begin? Friday was an interesting day of training. It was full of really nothing. I ran around following the clerk and trying to learn the paper system that they have here. In my opinion it is crap. Half the hotel is not in the system and I need to try and fudge it.  What craziness and hoop jumping I go through. It was something. The local guests that we have are a special case all in its self. I am truly embarrassed at the fact that we rent to normal people. When I check them in I already know they will be so displeased with us. That is because we are so sub standard to what Choice Hotels requires. To end my Friday was a visit from the US Marshal Service.

Saturday hmm...what can I say? CRAZY!!!!!!!!! Yup I said it. I truly needed a drink when I got home. It was so non stop all day. I didn't get home till after 4pm. I was a wreck and it honestly felt like I never worked at the desk before. It was such a madhouse here. But, I have been told I did well.  I don't know if they were being nice to me or not. 

Sunday was not near as horrific as Saturday but the morning was busy till about 1pm. Sam's wife came down to do her best to assist me. She set up housekeeping for me. It was a big help as odd as she is it worked out well. So when I left I just hurt a bit less than yesterday.

I come in today to see both Tampa PD and FD in the lobby.  I was told that a guest was smoking in the halls near a fire alarm. They got booted out.
